Pitt Cue Co
Pitt Cue Co | Covent Garden
Pitt Cue Co is a tiny US-style BBQ smokehouse so highly anticipated that even if you could book – which you can’t – you’d already be too late to get a table this side of the Olympics.
Which is excellent news, as 99% of Londoners will decide – on hearing how white hot Pitt Cue Co is about to become - to wait a few weeks “for the crowds to die down” before visiting.
You won’t.
You’ll instruct your guest to meet you at Pitt Cue Co HQ on an evening, and at a time, of your choosing.
Not being in the aforementioned 99% will require a little sacrifice and planning.
You’ll need to arrive at least an hour before your guest, with some light reading material in hand and –ideally – just before London leaves work for the day.
Once inside Pitt Cue you’ll use your elbows to secure a stool at the bar, where you’ll do solo Picklebacks until your guest arrives and your table’s ready. Request the accompanying skin if feeling peckish.
The food at Pitt Cue Co : authentic, smoked and slow-cooked, US-style BBQ.
Over beef brisket; soft pulled pork; charred beef ribs and smokey mash topped with burnt ends you’ll laugh off suggestions that you had to queue, with the light-hearted but steely retort,
“I know people.”
If your guest appears unconvinced by your new insider status then order them some off-menu “suicide wings” and a jug of the secret Pitt Cue Co hot sauce known only as “the bastard”.
Doing so will, at best, convince them that you’re truly “in the know” and, at worst, render them unable to speak.
Either way, you win.
