Chel-Ski | West London Skiing
Trying to find the best way to get fit in London might feel like a slippery slope.
Although Chel-Ski is making quite the case.
It’s an indoor ski centre conveniently located in Chelsea (surely that can’t be coincidence), just off the King’s Road.
They offer hour-long private or group skiing and snowboarding lessons, led by fully-trained instructors – all skiers or snow-boarders themselves. It doesn’t matter whether you’re a first-timer, or you’ve been tearing up black slopes since you were wee – you’ll be provided you with everything you need, and lessons can be adjusted for all levels, and to focus on whatever it is you’re looking to improve: confidence; technique; general fervour for life.
They also run something called Fit-Ski – a toning and strengthening-focused exercise class; part-on, part-off the mountain. As well as a mix-up of body-weight exercises like squats and lunges, you’ll get to ski a number of different runs, in a variety of styles.
Of course exercising is exhausting stuff, so chances are you’re going to want to refuel afterwards – which is exactly what you can do in their Alpine Bar. They have hot drinks, soft drinks, and smoothies, as well as a pretty decent selection of wines, beers, and cocktails (White Russian = milk; milk=protein). Plus they have cheese, and lots of it: baked camembert; raclette; cheese fondue; as well as dark, milk, or white chocolate fondue with fresh fruit and marshmallow dippers…
See you Val-d’Isère.
NOTE: Chel-Ski is open Monday-Sunday. Opening times vary, so for more information, or to book in, visit their website here.
