Four Quarters

If you’re looking to take your bar game to the next level…

…head to Peckham’s Four Quarters.

It’s an arcade bar on Rye Lane, boasting 15+ vintage arcade games, as well as ten different retro consoles, all available to play.

Current games on offer include Pacman, Sega Rally, Tetris, Street Fighter 2, Mortal Kombat 2, House Of The Dead… 2, and more. Just head to the bar with cash, and they’ll exchange your GBP for quarters to use on all of the machines.

Four Quarters

While you’re there you’ll probably want to order a drink too. As well as 2 for £10 cocktails – including a boozy cherry slush puppy – Four Quarters stock over over 40 different types of draught, canned, and bottled craft beer (just ask the bartender to see the full list). And if the choice is too overwhelming, there’s ‘mystery beers’ (one of the aforementioned 40, wrapped in brown paper) for £3 a pop.

If you’re peckish they’ve got burgers, topped with everything from cheese to ‘Deptford Death Sauce’, followed by sriracha mayo, jalapeños, and then more hot sauce. They’ve also got a selection of both veggie and vegan junk food: buffalo or BBQ seitanic wings; C-Bombs (beer-battered cauliflower ‘bombs’ in a sweet chilli BBQ glaze); Coney fries (topped with sauerkraut, ketchup, mustard, pickles, and crispy onions); and more. If you find yourself there Tuesday-Friday, 5.30-7.30, great news, it’s happy hour, meaning you can bag yourself a burger or two sides, alongside a beer, and four quarters for just £12.

Four Quarters - London activity bars

If you find yourself there Thursday-Saturday, also great news, as their basement cocktail bar ‘The Confession Box’ will be open, meaning more space to drink beer, as well as 50 different world whiskies. There’s also likely to be dancing, both upstairs and down. Thursday nights are home to Super Smash bros tournaments, and later in the week they have DJs, often playing a mix of electro, 90s rock, and funk & soul. So if you’re bad at video games, but a mean dancer…

…you’ve got that to console yourself.

NOTE: Four Quarters is open Mon-Wed 5.30pm-1am; Thurs 5.30pm-1.30am; Fri 5pm-2am; Sat 1pm-2am; Sun 3.30pm-11pm. To book a table or for more information, visit their website here. They also have a second branch in Hackney Wick.
