CLAW | Pop-up Restaurant
You’re better off getting them before a night out than after.
More specifically, the kind you really want are the ones that have been sustainably and responsibly sourced from Start Bay in Devon, directly from the fishermen, by the folks at crustaceous pop-up CLAW. Who, by the way, come with a great resumé. Founder Fabian Clark was awarded the 2015 Virgin Foodpreneur Award – as illustrious as it is awkward to pronounce – and their street food has previously popped up in all kinds of places, from London’s Southbank to festivals like Secret Garden Party and Green Man.
While they’re also going to be appearing at Little Feast and KERB over the next few months, their winter residency at The Sun &13 Cantons will allow them to offer an expanded menu for lunch and dinner most days, including the CLAW classics like black tempura lobster and cracked crab in a smoked pancetta broth. They’ve also come up with some exclusive new dishes, like the KFC (that’s kimchi fried crab) or IPA crab mac ‘n’ cheese – and there’s also some tasty veg hanging around, like BBQ tenderstem broccoli and dorset kelp, as well as ‘landfood’, including sirloin with anchovy hollandaise.
And with a menu based around small, shareable plates rather than courses, you won’t have to shell out much.
NEWS KLAXON: CLAW’s residency have been extended by popular demand until 25th February 2017. They’ll be celebrating by adding a couple of new dishes to the menu that hark back to their street stall days, like fish kebabs and the crab burger. Word on the street is they’re looking to move somewhere permanent this year, so watch this space…
NOTE: CLAW will be popping up at The Sun & 13 Cantons between October 22nd –
January 31st February 25th for lunch Tuesday – Saturday and dinner Tuesday, Wednesday and Saturday, with a bar menu available on Thursday and Friday evenings. You can book online HERE.
