Jimmy’s Surf & Turf | Clapham Popup
By Jade Ross
A couple of important definitions:
1. Decapod (noun)
A crustacean with ten legs, such as lobster
2. Decapopup (noun)
A pop up restaurant running for ten dates. Like, for example, Jimmy Garcia’s brand new Surf & Turf feasting menu at The Lodge in Clapham.
And throughout August you have the chance (ten chances, actually) to enjoy both of these things simultaneously, thanks to Jimmy’s innovative 5 course feast showcasing the best of our native shores and pastures.
For this latest venture, Jimmy Garcia – a stalwart of London’s foodie pop up scene – has joined forces with Ranulph Lees and Alex Cox in order to take you on a culinary adventure featuring dishes like…
Crispy cod, confit garlic mayonnaise, whipped smoked cod’s roe, flatbread & crispy chicken skin.
Battle of the Big Boys!
Cote de boeuf, 1/2 lobster tail, seaweed and lime butter, orange braised chicory, parmentiere potatoes and burnt lime.
Picnic Basket for the Beach
Raspberry bakewell, Earl Grey panna cotta with honeycomb, lemon ice cream and a brandy snap sandwich.
Aaaaand the booze options are no less exciting, thanks to a delightfully summery selection of beach-themed cocktails and 10 pint kegs for the table.
NOTE: Jimmy’s Surf & Turf runs for 10 dates between 6-27 August at The Lodge in Clapham. £44 per person for a 5 course set menu. Book online HERE.
