Jones & Sons has, perhaps ironically, produced its first child.
It’s in Angel, and it’s taken everything great about Andy Jones’ hidden (or at least hard to find) Dalston original, and made it all the more convenient to get to.
For people who don’t live in East London, that is.
Decking out the space is the same classic mid-century feel that made the original so damn handsome; with unique design elements including 1960s Danish dining chairs, solid walnut dining tables, lights from a marine salvage specialist in Exeter, a Carrara marble bar top, and – last but not least – a private balcony looking out over the street, roomy enough for several tables.

Another holdover from the original is the chef, Kieran Hope, who has been commanding the kitchen at Jones & Sons “from day one”. He’s been bussed in take charge here too, where he’s cooking up a few new dishes including Ibérico pork carpaccio with yeast, duck fat crumb, spring onions & pickled shallots; some sea trout with liquorice hollandaise, Jerusalem artichoke, and grilled watermelon; and a soufflé-like dessert of puffed up chocolate,with candied hazelnut and pistachio ice cream.
And finally, in a move that will make a lot of people very happy, they’ve also brought over their bottomless brunches (in which the food and the drink are bottomless) and Sunday lunches (with Herefordshire ribeyes, whole roast chickens, slow-Roast Hampshire pork belly, etc.) – both of which usually book solid weeks in advance, and which you may, at last, have a shot at getting into.
