Welcome to Love & Liquor, a new late night cocktail bar in NW London.
Think of this as your post-Paradise by Way of Kensal Green party spot: a den of iniquity where anything goes.
Including you.
But not until 3am.
Styled on the cocktail lounges of Brooklyn, the focus here is classic cocktails with a tweak – the Smoked Old Fashioned, the Velvet Elvis and the Pomegranate Cosmopolitan – and original 1920’s favourites like the White Lady, the Manhattan and the Hemingway Daiquiri.
Featuring stripped back, warehouse-style décor (exposed brickwork and metal piping) and quirky features like a neon-wired eye and a raised n’ caged VIP area overlooking the bar, this is Williamsburg. In Kilburn.
Which means that there’s got to be some street art around somewhere… And there is: a giant ‘deconstructed mural’ by highly acclaimed Portuguese street artist Alexandre Farto.
Don’t laugh at his surname.
Ok, do.
For those interested in hosting their own secret shindig there’s also the Volstead Library: a concealed, prohibition-style private fun house only accessible via a weathered ol’ wardrobe in the main bar.
