Mussel Men | Dalston Restaurant

This is about you behaving in ways you typically don’t.

Cocktails are stopping by.

Lobster will be there, and oysters are making an appearance.

Ahoy and welcome to Mussel Men: a minimally decorated Dalston seafood spot which – after making tracks as a pop up – now resides permanently on Kingsland Rd, serving up rock oysters, hand dived scallops, Scandinavian crayfish and Shetland mussels in a nautical inspired restaurant and outdoor courtyard run by a few extroverted Scots.

Here’s why you should go, in reverse order of importance:

5) The Giant Under-The-Sea Wall Mural.

4) The Lobster Tuesdays (1st Tuesday of each month, with lobster and live music all night); Sunday Seafood Roasts with live jazz (from 7pm-9pm) every Sunday, need we say more.

3) The Food / The Drink. They have the MM Classic Mussels Mariniere and Hand Dived Scallops, Sauerkraut, Apple & Bacon as well as Pulled Pork and Soft Shell Crab Burger, all of which are well suited for those in the mood for exactly what we just mentioned, but which are also well suited for those who like relaxed, laid back and high quality dining which eschews all formality in favour of fun.

2) The Thumb Wars. Captain Bob, the owner and overall curator is a notorious thumb war competitor. So much so that they have a designated thumb war ring which happily slips over each players respective thumbs.

1.5) Captain Bob has never been beaten.

1) Just saying.
