The CTC Development Bar & Table

The CTC Development Bar & Table | Soho Bar

CTC Development & Table, Soho has unfortunately now closed. However, CTC Brick Lane is now open.

Dry January, eh.

It’s pretty depressing.

Which is what makes this the perfect time to cheer you up by telling you all about the three boozehounds who have just opened a tiny, mahogany-heavy drinking den just off Oxford St which not only combines innovative cocktails with a varied musical menu of funk, blues, swing and hip hop, but which is also the winner of our award for “The Best New Bar In London That Has A Really Long Name”.

So let’s all get drunk at The Cocktail Trading Co. Development Bar & Table, a place which feels – thanks to its dark green carpet, marble tables, banquettes and framed portraits – like it should be stuffy, but is actually fun.

To enjoy it you’ll need to head underground, because:

A) Most fun things happen underground, and

B) This is one of them.

Specifically you’ll need to head down through Central & Co, mosey past the giant block of ice from which an attractive barkeep will soon be hand carving your beverage’s coolants, sit down at the bar – or at the table which you’ll have most likely reserved – and peruse the menu.

On it you’ll find it a minimal selection of everything except for cocktails…which, due to this being a cocktail bar, should make perfect sense to you. First you’ll spot your old favourites: a daiquiri here, a mojito there. And then you’ll spot your new favourites: an Urn-Aged Corpse Reviver #2 featuring Egyptian embalming gin, fortified honey wine, mandarin liqueur and absinthe; Scout’s Honour, filled with 86 Co. tequila and smoked marshmallow syrup; plus some sort of Japanese concoction filled with Jim Beam, yuzu juice and matcha tea. Which sounds nice…

…but smoked marshmallow syrup sounds nicer.

NOTE: CTC Development & Table, Soho has unfortunately now closed. However, CTC Brick Lane is now open.
