Through careful analysis, rigorous testing, and double blind, placebo-controlled, peer reviewed research from our science department, we’ve discovered the following:
1) The average Londoner weighs approximately 75kg.
2) GŎNG – Western Europe’s highest cocktail bar, located on the 52nd floor of The Shard – is approximately 182 metres above ground level.
Which means that if you get too intoxicated, fall out of GŎNG’s window, aren’t wearing a parachute, fail to summon a giant flying rescue bird and so inevitably hit the ground, the whole process should take –
3) Roughly 6.09 seconds. Give or take.
A period in which your whole life will be likely to flash right before your eyes.
Thankfully, however, the memory freshest in your mind will be the final, precious few hours that you spent at GŎNG. A memory which will involve you catching two separate elevators up 52 floors of one of London’s most impressive modern architectural buildings; arriving inside GŎNG’s cocktail bar and enjoying concoctions like the Black & Blue Swizzle (whisky, honey, lime, sherry and blue cheese) and the honey-infused Bourbon Bee, before heading through to the champagne bar with views stretching as far as the South Downs.
You’ll remember the small tapas-style sharing plates you enjoyed; and you’ll remember the swimming pool, bordered on two sides by floor to ceiling windows and surrounded by small lounge booths from which you watched the sun set across London… before falling to your death.
Only you won’t fall, because the windows don’t open.
Which is a relief.
NOTE: GŎNG is open daily from 12pm-1am (midnight on Sundays) and has a minimum-spend of £30 per person. They accept walk-ins, or you can make a booking HERE.
