Worship Street Whistling Shop

NOTE: The Worship Street Whistling Shop has sadly now closed.

The Worship Street Whistling Shop: a quirky cocktail bar inspired by Victorian gin palaces and dram shops of old.

And one of the Nudge’s favourite bars in London.

The second creation of Fluid Movement (their first being Purl, an outstanding Georgian basement gin palace come speakeasy in Marylebone), the Worship Street Whistling Shop fuses Victorian and Dickensian drinking culture with the same forward-thinking bartending techniques that have come to define Purl.

Months spent in a laboratory experimenting with “flavour, multi-sensory perception and theatrical cocktails” have resulted in a menu of libations that includes the (Substitute) Bosom Caresser, the Panacea and the Exploded Vodka Martini (which includes everyone’s favourite ingredient: high pressure hydrosol).

The extensive offering of Victorian food at the Worship Street Whistling Shop comes courtesy of the Mussel Men at Temple & Shian, and includes roasted wood pigeon with pork croquettes, artichokes and quail eggs, steak and kidney pie and, on Sundays, a suckling pig feast to be shared amongst friends.

With two private dining areas, one of which is modelled on an eighteenth century dram shop, a cocktail emporium (in which you can take a multi-sensory cocktail voyage), and with Purl’s reputation behind it, this is a must-visit.

M’kay?
