Original Sin | Stoke Newington Bar
Welcome to Original Sin.
The highly anticipated second bar from the troop behind Happiness Forgets, not only does it look like the sort of brooding, dimly lit basement bar you might find in NYC’s meatpacking district… it’s also one of those rare gems which combine style with, well, fun.
This is in large part down to the all-girl bar staff, who will always remember your name and drink; the alternating roster of live musicians who grace the stage on unpredictable monthly intervals; the fact that if you don’t live in Stoke Newington, you now have an excuse to go there; and the pool table, which is both completely free to play, and requires you to abide by only one rule: be a lady, be a gent; win at all costs.
Being a bar, it does drinks. Visit and you’ll find a list of ten simple, Happiness-Forgets-Quality cocktails, a collection of craft beers, local and international wines; and food courtesy of upstairs restaurant, Burger Bear. However you can’t Tweet, Instagram or Facebook about any of it because the basement has absolutely no phone reception whatsoever…
NOTE: Original Sin is open now. They don’t take reservations but if necessary can be contacted through their website HERE.
