The Sourcing Table Crystal Palace | A Sequel to the Peckham Wine Bar

Word on the street is that Crystal Palace has a new wine bar.

And trust us, we’ve got a good source…

See, the founders of The Sourcing Table have opened a second wine bar and bottle shop in Crystal Palace. It follows right on from the their other outpost in Peckham, which in the short space of a year has already snuck itself into the runnings for one of London’s best natural wine bars.

Originally, The Sourcing Table operated just as online shop with the intent of rehabbing fine wines’ image from snobby and pretentious to fun and personable, but after getting their first taste of the offline world and liking it (as well as completely acing it), a Sourcing Table sequel was only a matter of time. The ‘time’ being now… they’ve managed to secure a sweet spot right amongst it in the Crystal Palace triangle, which is the most happening triangle in the neighbourhood; home to pubs, antique markets, a reptile emporium and a cinema, among other things.

It’s fairly straightforward as to what The Sourcing Table brings to the, ahem, table: biodynamic and organic wine. Here they stock around 400 bottles of the stuff – ‘painstakingly sourced’ and all from small independent producers – alongside boutique spirits and a bit of craft beer, all of which you can drink on-site (wines for a corkage fee) or bring back home with you, or maybe off to Crystal Palace Park nearby for a picnic session.

If you do decide to drink in, there’s room for 24 in a classically smart space and for those wanting something by the glass, there’s 12 or so wines offered in that format. Any threat of hunger should be eliminated by excessive amounts of cheese and charcuterie, acquired from Cobble Lane Cured, Brindisa and Mons Cheesemongers (which was originally a stall in Borough Market). And as for tastings and events, expect those to happen here on a regular basis in time, as the place gets comfortable, with visiting winemakers and sommeliers dropping in to host.
