Live At The Chapel

One comedy night you can definitely have faith in…

…is Live At The Chapel.

As the name suggests, it takes place monthly in Islington’s gorgeous Grade I-listed Union Chapel. Here, seated in one of the original wooden pews, some of which sit high-up in the rafters overlooking the stage – you can watch an exceptional line-up of London’s biggest and hottest comedians perform against a backdrop of stained glass.

Each night there’s around four to five comedians (the focus here is quality over quantity), with previous acts including Sarah Pascoe; Tim Key; Nish Kumar; Jessica Fostekew; Adam Buxton; Jen Brister; and Phil Wang (to name but a few). For the next show on 4th November, the showrunners have drafted in Fern Brady, Josh Jones, Dee Allum and Thanyia Moore. You can get tickets right here.

If you get peckish, or you fancy yourself a thirst quencher, Union Chapel have a bar selling snacks, as well as all the usual boozy suspects. Alternatively you can turn up a little early and enjoy a meal from their pop-up cafe, which runs at most of their events. Union Chapel have an in-house charity called The Margins Project which was set up to support people facing homelessness, or risk of homelessness, in Islington. The cafe is both run in part by some of those marginalised victims, as well all of the profits going towards providing food, shelter, and more to anyone else in need.

A worthy cause.

NOTE: Live At The Chapel is a monthly event. You can keep up to date with upcoming shows, and book tickets (£27.50), via their website HERE.
