Alexandra Palace Summer Festival 2016
The most critical thing to do when it’s this hot…
…is to bear firmly in mind that it won’t last.
Ooh, and wear sunscreen.
Speaking of both, we heard that you’ve been looking for somewhere “outdoorsy” to spend this Saturday, where you can listen to live music, race prams, eat street food, climb trees, get drunk, enjoy an outdoor film screening, head down a giant water slide and get a tan all at the same time. Without leaving London. And for free.
And as it happens, The Alexandra Palace Summer Festival – which is taking place in Ally Pally’s grounds this Saturday, complete with panoramic views of London – is offering up everything you’re looking for, and a little more.
Specifically we’re talking: a giant, 100m waterslide; three different music stages hosting live bands and DJs; craft beer and street food from the likes of Iberico Jack, El Dorado, Smokestak, The Salt Beef Bros, The Waffle Float, Tiki Bar, Yum Jungle and The Ice Cream Cab; The Great British Pram Race; an adventure zone featuring hamster zorbing, archery and Segway riding; an alfresco cinema screening of ET; a funfair featuring dodgems, waltzers; a series of “secret forest” silent discos; and that classic staple of every alfresco summer festival…
….an ice skating rink.
NOTE: The Alexandra Summer Festival takes place this Saturday 23rd July (11am – 10pm). Free Entry, though some bits are ticketed (you can get tickets HERE)
Alexandra Palace Way, London N22 7AY, United Kingdom (closest Tube is Wood Green)
