Barullo | East London Argentinian Festival

Considering Argentina could fit roughly 11 United Kingdoms into its own land area, some people might claim that squeezing it all into one East End warehouse would be impossible.

And they would be right.

But only on a boring, literal level. On a much more fun metaphorical level, Wines of Argentina have accomplished exactly that by putting together an event that packs the best of Argentinian food, wine, art and entertainment into Hoxton’s JJ Studios this month.

Following the success of previous events like Cambalache, Barullo – Spanish for ‘raucous din’ – is a festival dedicated to showcasing some of Argentina’s finest winemakers. And when we say some, we actually mean over forty.

And raucous it will certainly be, because all evening you’ll be at liberty to sample as many of these different types of award-winning grape-hooch as you please, all against a backdrop of contemporary art from the Barro gallery in Buenos Aires and music from the up-and-coming Argentinian artist Coiffeur. And since you’ll be needing a way to cleanse your palette between glasses, you’ll also be able to tuck into small plates from the chef patron at the world’s 6th best restaurant – double Michelin-star wielding Mauro Colagreco.

And if you happen to be partial to critically-acclaimed food, you will probably want to consider the deluxe ticket, which not only gives you exclusive access to even more premium wines, but also entitles you to a four-course meal prepared by Colagreco’s team from the aforementioned 6th-best restaurant, Mirazur – who will be cooking in London for the first time.

Because as we all know, while beer followed by wine leaves you feeling fragile, a Michelin-starred dinner followed by wine makes you feel goddamn amazing.

NOTE: Barullo will run between 25th and 28th October 2016. Tickets cost £30 for the wine tasting, small plates and music (8-11pm) or £100 to include dinner (6.30-11pm) and can be booked HERE.

COMPETITION: If, of course, you find yourself getting used to the idea of sampling a range of fine wines all evening, consider the idea of sampling a different bottle every week for a year. And if that appeals, consider entering our competition to win said year’s supply of wine – delivered to your door and handpicked by globally-respected sommeliers – when you book a ticket to Barullo, using the code NUDGE HERE.
