In addition to your birthday and Christmas day, there’s one day this year that you’re most looking forward to.

British summertime.

Obviously the most exciting thing about your summertime, as opposed to your birthday, is that you still have no idea which day it’s going to land on.

Which is why you remain in an excited state of readiness: sunglasses to hand; flip-flops nearby; Pimms stockpiled; the ice-cream van man’s number on speed-dial.

And now this, the final cherry atop your extensive summer preparations…. the location of your closest beach:

Camden.

Its been created by filling the Roundhouse’s terrace with 150 tonnes of sand, resulting in a central London seaside resort that features ping pong tables and palm trees; boules and badminton; palm trees, parasols and Olympic screenings.

Hey Lolly’s providing frozen refreshments, Jimmy’s Shack has the margaritas covered and there’s a Beach Bar & Grill tiki hut serving up Caribbean cocktails; steaks; fresh fish; burgers and more…

When your day comes, you know where to go.

NOTE: Camden Beach will run until the end of August 2012, and is open daily from 11am to 11pm. Entrance is free. More details HERE
