At this very moment in time, you are both the oldest you’ve ever been, and the youngest you’ll ever be again.
Science.
The implications of this fact are clear: you must take care of both your younger, riotous, fun-loving side AND its older, culturally sensitive other half. Ideally at the same time, on the same day, and in the same place.
Which is impossible. Which brings us to Lock Live, a completely free of charge one-day festival stretching from the cobbled top of Stables Market down to the canalside at Camden Lock, combining live music with international and local street food, al fresco cocktail bars and more than 300 craft and fashion stalls, which – all in all – essentially acts as both a giant housewarming for the famous Camden Market’s 2015 summer series AND as the perfect place to satisfy:
The Younger You, which will find nourishment in live music from Stealing Sheep, The Cuban Brothers, Norman Jay, Frankie Forman; Dom Pipkin and the Iko’s, and S.O.U.P. Ukulele Club, among others; fruity al fresco cocktail bars in boats; and all night long after parties at Proud, Gilgamesh, The Cuban Bar and Dingwalls. And,
The Older You, which will find itself perfectly at home surrounded by acclaimed international and local street food vendors and restaurants; guided workshops, talks and masterclasses; dancers and spoken word artists; plus hundreds of boutique craft and fashion stalls. And finally,
The Impatient You, which will be thrilled to hear that it’s happening this Friday.
NOTE: Lock Live 2015 is now over. However Camden’s Summer Night Markets run every Thursday night across summer. Backyard Cinema’s ‘Independent Film Season’ runs every Wednesday, Thursday and Friday, also for 6 weeks from 29th July, 2015.
