Dinner At The Twits | Waterloo Vaults

Roald Dahl.

For a man named after a curry, it’s taken a long time for someone to arrange a dinner party-style experience about one of his books.

So consider this …a novel experience.

Because for the very first time, one of the great man’s stories has been specifically adapted for adults (“not nasty, nosey little children”), into an immersive theatrical experience in the Waterloo Vaults.

DaTT’s comes to you courtesy of the immersive theatre maestros at Les Enfants Terribles (responsible for The Game’s Afoot, among others) and the culinary anarchists at Bompas & Parr. Together, they’ve decked out the Waterloo Vaults to look like a Quentin Blake illustration come to life…

WHAT TO EXPECT

Your dinner at The Twits Windowless House will be served by Mr. & Mrs. Twit themselves (“the worst hosts ever”), who will play out a four-course dinner and fully interactive production in 90 minutes. Details are intentionally scant, but you can expect to drink cocktails with floating eyeballs, hunt for “concealed canapes and gruesome hors d’oeuvres”, feast on a bird pie banquet, and polish off dessert with whatever’s left of your wine.

After the meal, you can explore the Ghastly Garden, and move onto the Muggle-Wumps Downside Up Cocktail Cavern, where you can relax, and expect yet more drinks that will make you question your own sanity.

There’s an option for premium tickets too, which will net you an extra cocktail, a hot drink after dinner, a recipe book, and a box of chocolates…

…which we’re assured were not made in any kind of factory.

NOTE: Dinner At The Twits takes place in the Waterloo Vaults for a strictly limited season from 4th September – 30th October. Tickets cost £76.50 for standard, and £96.50 for premium.
