Free Run | The Southbank
Olympic gymnasts have it pretty easy: they’ve got padded floors, stretchy nylon outfits and a collection of coaches, physios and make up artists around to help them out.
In contrast to this slightly understated depiction of the typical gymnast’s pedestrian lifestyle is 3RUN, the UK’s number one free running team. Holders of fifteen Guinness world records and the proud recipients of 29 million YouTube hits, they somersault over cars, backflip over walls and set themselves alight before diving off buildings. And all before breakfast.
Known for a unique blend of parkour, urban acrobatics, stunts and martial arts, the 3RUN team have been featured in film, TV and at live events around the world. And now they’ve got their own show.
The world exclusive “Free Run” will be on at the Southbank Centre this summer, and we’ve got your tickets….
You’ll spend a warm Sunday afternoon in June wandering along the South Bank of the Thames, basking in the sunshine and possibly eating ice cream. You might hop on the London Eye or visit the Tate, and you’ll definitely hire a tandem from Gabriel’s Wharf. At 6pm you’ll be one of the lucky few with tickets to the Free Run show at the Southbank Centre, and after it’s done there’ll still be time for drinks at the top of the Oxo Tower.
The Nudge has two tickets to give away for Free Run, at 6pm on Sunday 5th June 2011.
