Live fire cooking.
It’s man’s greatest invention since …well, fire.
And, like many great things, it probably shouldn’t be tried at home.
That is, not until you’ve tried it on a scenic East London rooftop with an enormous custom made grill with two of the capital’s finest grilling experts ready to impart their wisdom on wood-fired cooking.
Luckily for you, The Culpeper are offering literally just that.
Over the next three months, they’ll be hosting fire cooking workshops in the urban oasis that is their rooftop, led by resident chef Sandy Jarvis (of Terroirs fame) and Lord Logs – who is not, in fact, a particularly wooden member of the aristocracy, but rather the respected “grilling consultant and firewood supplier” to vaunted eateries such as Forza Win and The Chiltern Firehouse.
What will they do for you?
Well, Lord Logs himself will introduce you to different types of wood and charcoal and explain how they can endow your food with subtle nuances in flavour, while Sandy, known for his focus on seasonal produce, will advise you how best to complement your fire cooking with fresh, seasonal ingredients. All while you tackle your own hulking great slab of meat engulfed by giant flames.
Because we know you can handle a baptism of fire.
NOTE: On Fire: An Audience with Lord Logs is taking place at The Culpeper on various dates between August and October. Tickets cost £30 and are available HERE.
The Culpeper | 40 Commercial Street, Spitalfields, E1 6LP
