Motion Picture Supper Club

The perfect date night would probably involve heading to a beautiful 1920s ballroom in central London to enjoy cocktails, live jazz, a movie and a three-course, candlelit meal… followed by post dinner-cocktailing in a secret diner, and dancing to more live music.

However no one’s ever arranged an evening like that.

Until now.

And so let’s all give a round of applause for Motion Picture Supper Club. Nobly created with the sole purpose of bringing the excitement and glamour back to a night at the movies, it smoothly combines all of the following experiential ingredients:

1) Cocktails & Jazz.  You’ll head into a beautiful and spacious Art Deco bar for a little pre-dinner, 1920s-style cocktailing – with your first cocktail being on the house – whilst enjoying some live jazz from the inimitable Basin Street Brawlers.

2) Candlelit Dinner & Movie.  You’ll then be seated in the heart of a grand 1920s ballroom for a three-course candlelit dinner served, cabaret-style, throughout the duration of the film (which’ll either be American Beauty or Catch Me If You Can, depending on the night you choose to go).  On the menu: grilled & pickled asparagus with goat’s cheese and a soft boiled quail’s egg; a main course of New York striploin with lobster béarnaise, stuffed potato skins and a green bean salad; and then chocolate brownies with salted caramel and popcorn parfait for dessert.

3) After Party & Secret Bar.  And then it’ll be time for the After Party. Which is the point at which you’ll need to choose whether to enjoy more live jazz from The Basin Street Brawlers, and more cocktails – served up both in the main bar and inside a dimly-lit, vintage diner – until either “Late”, or “Very Late”.

Decisions, decisions.

NOTE:  Motion Picture Supper Club will be at Bloomsbury Ballroom on Friday 22nd May (screening American Beauty) and on Saturday 23rd May (screening Catch Me If You Can). Dinner tickets – which include a complimentary gin cocktail on arrival, a three course meal cooked by the amazing Disappearing Dining Club, the film screening, all live music and entry to the After Party – cost £65 and can be bought HERE.

After Party tickets – which include a free welcome cocktail on arrival, live music from Basin Street Brawlers, a DJ and general revelry ‘til late within the beautiful Art Deco surroundings of Bloomsbury Ballroom – cost just £10, and can be bought HERE.

ALSO NOTE: We’re giving away a set of four tickets to attend Motion Picture Supper Club on Saturday 23rd May. COMPETITION CLOSED
