New Years Eve | Things To Do
We’ve made our New Year’s resolutions:
1) Stop making lists.
B) Be more consistent.
7) Learn to count.
If you’ve still to make yours, then…
3) ‘Stop Procrastinating’ should be in there, and
C) You probably haven’t made any plans for NYE yet.
Fortunately, however, you have options… like Disappearing Dining Club’s NYE Dinner Dance (cocktails, a 5 course meal and DJs ‘til 5am); fire-eating dancers and acrobats at Circus in Covent Garden; live rhythm n’ blues at Shaker & Co’s New Orleans Mardi Gras Party; and a 1950s-style ‘Pimps N’ Pin Ups’ celebration at Love & Liquor.
There’s a Vintage NYE Party at the Royal Festival Hall (featuring dance classes, 1920s ragtime bands, a 1940s swing orchestra, a collection of DJ’d nightclubs, plus films and fireworks over the Thames), a Brazilian carnival party at Floripa in Shoreditch and – if you want to go big – Stompin’ At The Savoy or dinner at the top of the Gherkin.
For pure variety White Mischief’s NYE Extravaganza may be hard to beat, thanks to an alternative offering of circus, cabaret, acrobatics and, um, “oral ping-pong”. Or there’s the Guilty Pleasures Vs Ultimate Power NYE Party, an epic battle between pop music and power ballads where there can only be one true winner….
We’re back in January 2013.
Have a Merry Christmas, and a Happy New Year.
