Señor Ceviche At Dukebox
Today’s lecture – and it is a lecture – is about subterranean Peruvian playhouses in London.
There was a young man from Peru,
Whose limericks stopped at line two.
The summary of our thesis is that there are, actually, no subterranean Peruvian playhouses in London. However that’s fortunately going to change this Thursday 17th October, thanks to the return of London’s preeminent Peruvian playhouse popup party people: Señor Ceviche.
Because following a month of research* in Peru, Señor Ceviche have teamed up with Dukebox – a NY-style, underground Chelsea boîte with a penchant for confetti bombs and caged jack-in-the-boxes – to host a weekly Peruvian supperclub (£25 for four courses) with cocktails and live music…
On the menu you’ll find a choice of nibbles like queenie scallops and confit duck lollipops; a kamikaze tiger milk-heavy selection of ceviche and tiraditos; pisco pinka pork, super chicken and glazed short ribs from the grill; and then picarones, dulce de leche and “Pisco Love Cake” for dessert. And to wash it all down, a fine selection of well-priced cocktails like the Machu Pisco, the Hooned Inca and the Mancora Surf Club.
Running every Thursday until 19th December, Señor Ceviche have modeled their weekly fiestas on Lima’s vibrant and bohemian Barranco district. Which means that while your evening could end with the Pisco Love Cake, you could also find yourself dancing in a late night Peruvian-themed cocktail bar complete with live bands, entertainment and DJs until 2am….
It is almost Christmas, after all.
