SkyMarket, Kitchen, Bar & Market | London Bridge
Markets are awesome.
It’s thanks to the hustle and bustle; the colours; the excitement; the quirky variety and – most importantly of all – the limitless opportunity to eat free cheese.
But despite all of this, most markets these days are still based on the cold, hard ground.
Which is boring.
However launching today is a new London market which – contrary to every market-goer’s tired expectations – has only gone and opened in the sky.
The aptly monikered “SkyMarket”, tucked away on a rooftop by London Bridge, is a multi-cultural kitchen, bar and deli aiming to connect the food scene around Borough Market and Maltby St, whilst simultaneously hosting live music, theatre and an arts & crafts gallery.
Open for lunch from 12pm each day (running until 5pm on Mondays, and until 10pm Tuesday to Saturday) the menu will change each week, but – to give you a taste – currently includes Balinese Saté with giant Krupuk prawn crackers from the Kaki Lima street food cart; Mango carpaccio & lobster; Ambonese “Koho Koho” with cassava chips from the main market stall; Madagascan vanilla chocolate tarts and rum n’ raisin panna cotta.
The cocktail menu will also be changing each week to match the food on offer, and there are open cooking classes every Tuesday. Which means they’ve got everything pretty much covered…
…except for the free cheese.
