We were recently informed by a seasoned philosopher, while sitting in the back of his taxi en route to Kings Cross, that
“Wise people know that they know nothing”.
He had a point.
But even our scholarly automobilist was forced to concede that wise people must know that they know something – even if it’s just that they know nothing – or else they’d, at worst, be incapable of functioning in society independently or, at best, never have anything to say at dinner parties.
Ipso fatso, knowing stuff is good.
