Tequila & Mezcal Fest

Tequila & Mezcal Fest | Brick Lane Festival
By Jade Ross

Tequila! Mezcal!

Whichever it is, you’re calling the shots.

And if choosing is too hard, it’s probably a good idea to put the 7th & 8th of October in your diary and head down to the Tequila & Mezcal Fest at the Old Truman Brewery.

Head along and you’ll find chefs from some of London’s finest Mexican restaurants serving up delicious regional specialities, street food and fusion dishes such as slow cooked pork pibils with smoked habanero; chicken mole tamales; and alioli mini burgers. Pick up some agave syrup or Mexican craft beer at one of the artisanal handicraft stalls, or enjoy some traditional Mexican entertainment like, erm… ice carving.

Yes, there will be ice carving.

On top of all this, there’ll be mucha variedad de Mezcal, and a fair bit of Tequila too. Which, if you didn’t already know – and we’re going to go right ahead and assume that you didn’t –  is actually a specific type of Mezcal.

Still, it’s worth a shot.

NOTE: The Tequila & Mezcal Fest takes place on 7th & 8th of October at the Old Truman Brewery, and entry is free.
