The House of Peroni Residency

The House of Peroni Residency

“è tornato”
– It’s back

Setting up shop for six glorious summer weeks in Haggerston’s Proud East, this year’s The House of Peroni Residency is themed around “For the Love of Italy” – a love which they’re expressing by drafting in three influential natives of the footwear-shaped peninsula, each of whom are masters of one of the three pillars of Italian awesomeness: food, drink, and style.

Here’s how it’ll go down:

STYLE

The space at Proud East was already impressively cool, with white walls & furnishings contrasting with a dark wooden floor, before Margherita Maccapani Missoni (of style juggernaut Missoni) got her hands on it; and she’s designing the spaces of the residency so that the uninformed observer might otherwise believe themselves to actually be in Italy. You can even get tickets to explore her beautiful Italian greenhouse, where you’ll be invited to drink a Peroni Nastro Azzurro Infusion out of a fragrant flowerbed full of Italian herbs and native flowers….

FOOD

Globally revered chef Francesco Mazzei (Chef Patron of Sartoria in Mayfair and previously of L’Anima, London) has put together the menus. And they are good. In addition to the feasts (expect home cured duck salami with cherries, liquorice-cured salt cod, roasted lamb, burrito tortellini, and more); Italian style brunches (you’ll find spicy baked eggs with ‘njuda, mac and cheese carbonara, parma ham Bloody Mary’s, and live music); and an all-Italian deli, there’s also Francesco’s private dining experience IL BANCHETTO, plus interactive pasta-making masterclasses with Burro e Salvia running throughout The Residency (both of which you can now book tickets for HERE).

DRINK

Simone Caporale – a winner of International Bartender of the Year, and ex-barkeep at The Langham’s Artesian – will be curating the drinks program for the second year running. He’s created a menu of Peroni Nastro Azzurro infused drinks; a slew of original cocktails (the Citta della Seta blends fig liquor, chinotto, and bergamot); and two pre-bookable experiences: one mixology masterclass, and a floating Negroni bar on Regent’s Canal, where he’ll be serving up five different varieties of the classic.

“E ci sarà anche la birra”
-And there’ll be beer too

NOTE: The House Of Peroni Residency is open at Proud East, Haggerston from 19th May – 1st July | Tickets to the private dining experience, pasta-making classes, cocktail masterclasses, Italian garden and floating Negroni bar are now on sale HERE | Free Entry
