The thing that we envy most about Italians – beyond their weather; olive complexions; sense of style; romantic spirit; melodious language and good looks – is the fact that they’re allowed to sleep in the middle of the day.

Plus their art, design, food and music.

Fortunately The House Of Peroni 2013 – which opens its doors on Portland Place this July – is bringing the very best of these things to London for an entire month. Meaning that you can avoid having to spend time actually travelling to Italy in order to experience them, and so take a long mid-afternoon nap instead.

As a fully immersive experience representing the very best in modern Italian style, design, art, music and food, The House Of Peroni will be welcoming with open arms and a kiss on each cheek those who’d like to pop by and explore its many exhibitions and installations.

But while paying The House a visit whenever the mood takes you is undoubtedly a good idea, a much better one is to book tickets for one of the unique events being hosted there before they all sell out. You could head to a discussion on the future of Italian design; learn from Costardi-trained chefs how to use laser-cut rolling pins to create edible dishware; use innovative Milanese technology to create a foam chair which follows the contours of your body; or attend a DJ set inside an interactive art installation.

Or, alternatively, you could just make a beeline for the private terrace and enjoy an alfresco cocktail mixed by Mr. Gerry Calabrese, followed by an experimental Italian sharing menu cooked by the Michelin-starred Costardi brothers….

And then head home for a snooze, Italian style.
