The Last Supper Club | Shoreditch
There are pop up dining experiences.
And then there’s this.
Inspired by the Mayan prophecy that the world will end on 21st December 2012, The Last Supper Club’s an epic immersive dining experience running over three successive weekends throughout December at The Yard (by Liverpool St Station).
To put the scale of it into context, you should first know that there’s a large section of Noah’s Ark for you to dine in (with sails draped from the ceiling, and an open kitchen) plus a DJ spinning tunes from inside an apocalyptic booth made out of old TVs and furniture…
In a nod to the Mayan prophets who have predicted our demise (big drinkers, incidentally) you’ll find a gold Mayan Shrine constructed of now useless material possessions; a purpose-built “Doomsday” bar; plus a seated “Last Supper” dining area surrounded by story-telling tapestries and serviced by waiters delivering food from Indonesian food carts.
There’s also a Nostalgia Wall of old family photos; a priest waiting for you inside a confession booth – just in case you have anything to get off your chest (which you will) – cocktails that involve the barmen turning water into wine, and post-dinner DJ’s / live music until 2am.
NOTE: book a table online to dine inside The Ark (£35 for 3 courses); call or email to reserve a spot in the more casual Last Supper dining area
