Diamonds and Dust

Cabaret stars: they’re used to juggling things.

And burlesque superstar Dita Von Teese is adding another metaphorical tassel to her skillset this year when she turns her hand to theatre, directing and starring in a brand new plot-driven cabaret show called Diamonds and Dust.

It’ll be raising the curtain on The Emerald Theatre, a new performance venue taking over the old Proud Embankment site. If you’ve never been before, it’s a vast, Moulin Rouge-esque restaurant-meets-bar-meets-theatre perched directly beneath Waterloo Bridge; a hole-in-the-wall kind of a place which opens up into a gorgeous, double-height space filled with wood panelled walls, grand staircases and Belle Epoque touches.

As well as directing and starring in several performances of the show, DVT is joining forces with a stellar team to bring Diamonds and Dust to life. The show’s creator is a fellow burlesque star, circus performer and stuntwoman, Tosca Rivola, while choreographer Matt Nicholson comes fresh from assisting on the Cruel Intentions musical and Strictly Come Dancing. And you can bet the production values are going to be insane: DVT will be decked out head to toe in bespoke Jenny Packham costumes, while Mr. Louboutin takes care of the shoes.

As for the plot? Well, like most of the performers’ clothing, it’s likely to be pretty loose. But the show’s set in an old hazy saloon in the Wild West, where a cast of gamblers and renegades pit themselves against Lady Luck. Only, they won’t be playing cards – they’ll be dazzling the crowd with a combination of death-defying stunts, glamorous burlesque routines and electrifying cabaret acts.

Throughout the night there’ll be cocktails flowing, and the option to tack on a theatrical dinner courtesy of chef Lara Norman’s experiential supper club Euphoria. And if you find yourself wondering if you can can-can too, sink another sazarac and join the rabble when they push the tables back and the whole place turns into a vast, 750 capacity nightclub, where you’ll be able to break a hip unleash your high-kicks to DJ sets late into the night…

NOTE: Diamonds and Dust opens on 16th June 2025. Tickets go on sale on 12th February – you can find out more, and book, HERE.
