Because that’s exactly what they’ve done at HotBox, Spitalfields‘ preeminent BBQ joint, who’ve just launched a new concept sharing-style summer menu. The idea is simple: more dishes, in smaller portions, with the same hickory-smoked style, meaning you get to sample a LOT more of the goods.
The menus include a lot of the old favourites (their signature Scotch Bonnet glazed pork ribs, and their 18hr brisket sliders, for instance), as well as adding a few new irons to the fire, including giant, shareable Tomahawk pork chops with a fermented chilli sauce, spice-dredged soft-shelled crab, and some coal-roasted aubergine with miso glaze & pickled shitaake.
And let’s not forget about dessert. Oh no. Because that now involves chargrilled caramel pineapples with Jamaican Rum ice cream. And you’d better believe the deep-fried Oreos are still on the menu.
