Jidori | The Stick-Based Japanese Spot Has a New Vegan Menu

Jidori Gets A New Vegan Menu

It tends to be easier to convince people of the benefits to veganism with the carrot rather than the stick.

Unless you’re Jidori.

Because their famed yakitori skewers are now available entirely plant-based.

The newly launched evening menu has found its home at Jidori’s Covent Garden site; a three storey townhouse with a karaoke room in the basement. It’s available alongside their current a la carte, and mirrors it with sections for small plates, yakitori, sides and desserts. Three are even vegan drinks to go with it all.

You can expect small plates like tenderstem broccoli tempura; and some avocado, radish, and yuzu ceviche. The yakitori skewers that the space has become so famous for have become veganised int he form of grilled shiitake and shimeji ‘Kinoko’ mushroom; and smokey ‘nasu’ aubergine skewers with red miso. And as for that dessert? You can expect coconut water sorbet with figs & lime.

You can wash it all down with some vegan natural wines, and some animal product-free cocktails.

Just to mix it up.

NOTE: Jidori’s vegan menu is available now at both branches. You can find out more, and make a booking at their website right HERE
