This February, Launceston Place is launching a new Sunday tasting menu.
And as it turns out, Sundays taste delicious.
The menu has been devised by the plush Kensington fine-diner’s shiny new Head Chef Ben Murphy (whose CV includes positions at The Berkeley under Pierre Koffmann, three Michelin starred Le Bristol in Paris, and Mayfair’s two-starred Greenhouse), who is planning on rotating it with each month to reflect a new theme. Meaning you can expect:
February: will kick things off with a five-course Roast Chicken menu utilising every part of the bird, “from the eggs to the bones”. Dishes will include Egg & Soldiers with truffle; chicken parfait with granola & blood orange; and chicken breast with wild garlic & peanut, all finished with a soufflé dessert.
March: sees the menu pivot over to USDA beef, with 100-day aged tartare with capers & egg yolk puree; some rib-eye with beef dripping & pear; and a good old fashioned beef consommé.
April: being the start of spring, will involve lamb, with dishes like neck of lamb with baby celeriac and Perigord truffle; lamb belly with artichoke and vanilla; rack of lamb with nori and lemon; and a sheep’s milk & honey dessert.
All in all, the menus will cost £54 (plus an optional wine pairing for £34) …unless you enter the competition below, in which case the menu – with wine pairings – will cost you and three of your friends literally nothing.
NOTE: Launceston Place’s five-course Sunday lunch tasting menu will be available every Sunday from February. Priced at £54 there is also an optional wine pairing available at £34. The A la Carte menu will be available alongside priced at £35 for three courses. You can find out more, and book a table right HERE.
T&Cs: Please note this competition has now closed and the winner has been notified. This competition will run from the 22nd until the 28th of January. This page will be updated and the winner will contacted via email on the 29th. The prize will be redeemable any Sunday of your choice subject to availability.
