Shep’s Brunch | East London Fusion Brunch
In many ways, it’s the most successful merger in history.
So the people at vaunted East London bar/resto Shep’s have decided to add another layer of harmony to it, by bringing together both Western and Eastern elements to their new menu.
Among the hybrid dishes, you’ll find appetite whetters like raw oysters with a traditional minced shallot moingonette, this time made with a Japanese citrus chilli paste. Upscaling, there’s a Western style hash made with Korean ingredients; housemate kimchi, smoked pork jowl, and braised mushrooms, all topped with a fried egg. Beyond that, there’s the congee (like a savoury rice porridge) made with chicken & poached egg; and a oyster mushrooms on sourdough toast with XO sauce.
To drink, you can’t go wrong with a kimchi Bloody Mary made with soju or, if you’re off the sauce, just a little Jing Assam breakfast tea.
Which should suit you down to a t.
