Gordo’s at TT Liquor

Gordo’s at TT Liquor.

Which is good news, because the pizza pie slinger was a smash hit when it opened in Dalston mid-pandemic. Things were going swimmingly until the landlord unexpectedly handed them their notice, and wouldn’t you know it – there’s now another pizzeria operating in its place. Called Gordo’s. Using their branding.

Copyright lawyers, we’re looking at you.

And pizza eaters, we’re telling you to get up to the rooftop at TT Liquor this summer, to try a real slice of the World Famous Gordo’s. It’s run by Jesse Elias, who comes from L.A. via NYC, and cut his teeth at Yard Sale Pizza and Borough Wines here in London. Since losing the Dalston site, he’s kept busy collaborating with the likes of Whyte Rushen and Two Hot Asians – and now WFG’s bedding in for a summer-long residency at this Shoreditch bottle shop & bar set in a former Victorian police station.

Specifically, the rooftop, which – should your appetite require any whetting, looks like this:

The menu offers Gordo’s blistered-crust classics like the Poco Dio with fior di latte mozzarella, garlic roasted chestnut mushrooms, fennel sausage & parmesan; and the vegan Giardino with San Marzano tomatoes, black olive pesto and artichoke. Those come bolstered with sides like fried dough balls and burrato with N’duja and hot honey.

And to drink? Well, it just so happens that you’re sitting in one of Shoreditch’s best bars, where you’ll be readily furnished with spritzes, beers and rhubarb cider on tap.

So don’t be surprised if that rooftop feels a little draught-y.

NOTE: Gordo’s is in residence at TT Liquor for the whole summer. You can find out more, and book a table, HERE.
