14 Hills | 14th-floor Aldgate restaurant
Opening 14 hills is usually a miner task.
But this summer, it’ll be a pretty major operation from high-end restaurant group D&D, who’re planing their latest eatery, 14 Hills, on the 14th floor of Aldgate-based skyscraper 120 Fenchurch Street.
It’ll be a sizeable affair, taking up around 9,200 square feet of space directly below the public roof gardens that crown the entire building. And, like those roof gardens, it’ll have actual mature trees, shrubs, and large pergolas planted inside it. In fact, it looks like it’ll basically be one big, indoor garden looking out over the Thames, Tower Bridge, The Shard, and other assorted iconic landmarks.
The food is going to be overseen by head chef Thomas Piat, who’s coming fresh off a stint at the acclaimed JOÍA par Hélène Darroze in Paris. The aim is for an all-day menu of Modern British food cooked with “French flair”. And beyond that, there’ll be a cocktail bar, and an extensive wine list.
Looks like it’ll be worth the hike.
NOTE: 14 Hills is due to open this November. We’ll be back then with the full scoop. In the meantime, you can find out more at the website right HERE.
