All too often, they get skewered.
Well, thanks to places like BabaBoom, they’re turning things around, and restoring their reputation as a top-tier meal.
So the folks at this kebab shop are doing the natural thing, and opening a second location. It’s going to be on Upper Street Islington, and it’ll have the same first rate charcoal-grilled kebabs that made the Battersea original so damned crowd-pleasing. In fact, they’ve served over 75,000 of them since opening.
This new space is a sizeable 1500 sq ft, with a laid-back vibe, and a house-made playlist of chilled French/Turkish hip hop underpinning the mood. Menu-wise, they’re keeping the same focus as the debut, installing a charcoal grill over which they’ll be scorching 24hr marinaded slow roast mutton shoulder, saffron & orange chicken, beef brisket, cauliflower, crispy squid with dukah, sticky sumac wings and even some experimental numbers like Cabrito goat belly, and to drink? They’re bringing back the classic frozen margs, and adding an all-new special brew draught Baba’s Beer.
NOTE: BabaBoom Islington is due to open on August 7th. We’ll be back then with the full scoop. In the meantime, you can find out more at their website HERE.
