Big Jo

North London restaurant trio Westerns Laundry, Primeur, and Jolene have just gotten a younger sister…

…and she’s not your average Jo.

Her name’s Big Jo in fact – a supersized bakery and 60-seater restaurant on Holloway’s Hornsey Road.

After the rising success of Jolene (also a bakery and restaurant), owners Jeremie Cornetto and David Gingell were keen to keep to the same format just… bigger. See they’ve got some serious plans, like trying their hand at regenerative farming, improving the local grain economy, and creating a sustainable food system, which they can’t currently do at their smaller sites.

They plan for Big Jo to eventually supply all of their current restaurants, as well as ten new hole-in-the-wall spaces, which they hope to open over the next couple of years.

It’s going to be a big ol’ project for sure, although if history’s anything to go by, they’re sure to rise to the challenge…

We’ll bring you the scoop once we’ve swung by.

NOTE: Big Jo is now open, and you can book a table here.
