Bird of Smithfield | Smithfield Restaurant
What do you get if you cross market-fresh food with a ground floor lounge, a tweed-dressed restaurant, a private dining room, a late-night subterranean cocktail den and a sun-drenched roof terrace overlooking Smithfield Market?
Answer: this place.
Set out over 5 floors of an old Georgian townhouse, Bird of Smithfield brings you pre-dinner rooftop drinking, top-notch modern British cuisine and late night shenanigans together under one roof, and the care of head chef Tommy Boland, who’s learned his trade with the likes of Bob Bob Cité’s Eric Chavot and Michelin-starred The Square.
Yes, you can pop in to for a leisurely breakfast or lunch.
But it’s more likely to be of interest whenever you find yourself in the mood for an easily-planned, fully inclusive, taxi-evading evening of al fresco cocktails, dinner cooked by one of London’s finest chefs and post-dinner fun in a moody basement bar known as The Birdcage (where DJs, live music and absinthe frappés will be keeping the fun alive until 1am)….
… which, from now on, will probably be quite often.
NOTE: Bird of Smithfield is open 8am-12am on weekdays, and 5pm-1am on Saturdays. You can book a table online HERE.
