La Bonne Bouffe translates as “the good grub”.
And while it’s unlike the French to toot their own trompette, in this case it’s a very apt name for a restaurant. It comes to us from the cocktail connoisseurs behind Bermondsey Arts Club, and sees their first food offering settling down in East Dulwich.
The idea is a classic French bistro (white tablecloths, romantic low lighting, menu written entirely en Français) that delivers a swarthy French wine list and authentic Parisian and provincial cuisine. You’ll be able to tuck into plates of snails and oysters, confit de canard, moules marinières, and a ham hock and pork belly choucroute, as well as a spread of delicate desserts and, crucially, cheese.
And of course, there’s a considerable cocktail offering on the cards to accompany the fine wines…
In case you’ve had chateau d’enough.
NOTE: Bonne Bouffe is open Tuesday-Sunday for lunch and dinner, with brunch on the weekends. You can reserve on their website HERE.
