Chakra

Chakra | Timeless Indian Cuisine With A Modern Flair

The Chakra are each of the seven centres of spiritual power in the human body.

Chakra in Kensington centres on the belly.

Located on the corner of two house-lined streets in Kensington, this local restaurant serves upmarket Indian cuisine in a wonderfully relaxed setting. A small, teal dining room with gold trim and hanging plants make it feel airy and modern, while still keeping an intimate, welcoming atmosphere.

But the menu’s the real reason to come here. Split into street food, curries, grill and small bites there’s plenty of variety, including…Lobster tail curry with spiced tomatoes and peppers; tandoori scallops and Chakra’s take on a lamb rogan josh, all served up in colourful streaks and on rustic silver and copper platters. There’s also an entirely vegan menu available to those who prefer it.

To accompany this, why not brave a Calcutta Express? Bourbon, green chilli, honey, lemon juice, berries and ginger ale. One of a variety of cocktails on offer, some with a spice-infused twist, and some classic, for the purists…

Either way, they have some powerful spirit.

NOTE: Chakra is open for lunch and dinner Tuesday – Sunday. You can find out more, and book a table, HERE.
