Coq D’Argent

Sitting atop the incomparably postmodern monolith that is No.1 Poultry, Coq d’Argent resides upon Ancient Roman ruins which date back to 47AD.

And it’s fortunate that you’ll be entering this Square Mile fixture with a feast on your mind, because a veritable cornucopia awaits you.

Cocktails on the roof terrace; Champagne in the award-winning garden; and a view which takes in St. Paul’s Cathedral, Mansion House, Monument and the Bank of England.

Boom.

Should the sun elect not to shine on the day of your visit, you can retreat indoors for a bar & brasserie experience where sommelier Olivier Marie will be on hand to take you through all 54 pages of the wine list.

One by one, if you want to be annoying.

Coq d'Argent - rooftop bars in London

Head chef Mickael Weiss, a philanthropist; super-duper athlete; prolific Twitterer and Masterchef participant, produces classic French cuisine infused with a contemporary kick up the derrière.

Whether you pop in for a midweek power breakfast; for Sunday lunch; for a set 3 course meal at £30; or – most likely – for an impromptu mid-afternoon jeroboam of Champagne and 30gr of Royal Belgian Oscietra Caviar, you won’t leave disappointed.

Especially if you look up while riding the see-through-ceilinged, Willy Wonka-style private elevator up there…

NOTECoq D’Argent is open for weekday breakfasts, daily lunch, and dinner Mon-Sat. You can find out more, and make a booking, on their website HERE.
