ETHOS Restaurant | Fitzrovia
Home is where the heart is.
Which, by definition, also means that home is at ETHOS, where a sizeable range of Japanese, Southeast Asian, French, German, Israeli, Italian, Korean, Indian, Mexican and Lebanese vegetarian dishes are presented – buffet style – along a number of individual self-service pods. Allowing you to not only see and ponder every possible option before loading up your plate, having it weighed, and paying accordingly, but ALSO allowing you to try every single dish on the menu in handily sample-sized portions.
Before going back for seconds. And sevenths.
Now there is, in life, as you well know, a tried and tested rule that ‘self service restaurants are weird’. It is also well known however that this rule does not extend to those restaurants with iroko wood and marble tables and flooring adorned by blue, gold and charcoal leather banquette seating and set amongst a miniature indoor forest of silver birch trees. And thankfully Ethos fits that alternative description to a tee.
For food, there’s a regularly changing, fresh-made selection of salads, as well as dishes like courgette ribbons and feta, napa kimchi, potato wrapped aloo scotch eggs and corn masa steamed in banana leaves with jalapeños. For drinks, there are three cocktails – a bellini, a primavera and a spruced up G&T – three beers, and a short list of mainly new world wines. And for dessert, there are – among others – sugar-dusted doughnuts filled with vanilla crème patissière.
And, you know, others.
NOTE: Reservations are taken Monday – Friday for group bookings of six or more, and for weekend brunch with no minimum booking party.
