This Exmouth Market branch was the eighth opening for the caffeine colossus…
…proving there’s clearly no bumps in Grind’s business plan.
Like the Clerkenwell number up the road which opened just a few months before, it’s an all-day affair with food being served from brunch till close, alongside their sweet, jittery nectar (roasted nearby in Old Street). Head honcho in the kitchen is Kyle Boyce, who’s worked his way up to head chef after stints at Soho House, Pizza East and a couple of Chicago restaurants.
And he’s also the reason why you’re probably going to find yourself settled in for the duration at Exmouth Grind, working your way through the brunch menu (wild boar benedict with preserved lemon hollandaise and pickled chillies; ‘Nduja baked eggs with blood sausage and whipped feta), aaaall the way through to the evening menu with dishes like 8-hour lamb shank with spiced sweet potato and coriander raita, and heritage beetroot with burrata, pistachio and ciabatta. Washed down, of course, with those espresso martinis.
And finally, to end the oppressive, age-old dilemma of coffee vs dessert, they’ve done the honourable thing by offering a range of caffeinated confections like affogato and amaretti, and chocolate parfait with a crumbly espresso streusel.
Hear that? That’s your body telling you yes.
NOTE: Exmouth Market Grind is open daily, from 8am on weekdays and 9am on weekends. Bottomless brunch is served weekends, 12-5pm. You can find out more, and book a table, HERE.
