Foxlow Soho

NOTE: Foxlow Soho has sadly now closed.

Foxlow fans, rejoice. For a branch of the Hawksmoor sibling has arrived in central London, with a spot in Golden Square.

The resto is spread over two floors, decked out with reclaimed tiling and light fixtures to give it a distinctly retro diner feel. Seating ranges from intimate booths to counter seats around the U-shaped ground-floor bar, set underneath a vintage-styled cinema canopy.

As for the food, you’ll find all the classics here – with slow-smoked pork ribs, five pepper Brixham squid, and fried Castlemead chicken all featuring alongside the signature steaks – but they’re also catering for the vegans, with dishes like sweet potato and tahini, and roast cauliflower with chickpeas and spinach. Tuesdays are for bringing your own booze – ‘as much as you can carry’ with free corkage – and, of course, they’re still serving enviable brunches featuring their famous fried chicken croissant waffle and breakfast cocktails, as well as beef and chicken pot roasts on Sundays.

It’s almost like you’re going to have to stay there all week.
