The Good Egg.
Paradoxically, one is not un oeuf.
So the people behind Stoke Newington’s finest Jewish deli, brunch spot, bakery, and bar have opened a second spot in Soho’s Kingly Court.
Here’s how this egg breaks down…
THE NEW MENU
Prepare for new stuff including a slow braised Hanukah-style brisket hash packed with caramelized onions, home-fries, Russian dressing & pickles, topped with a fried egg; and Sabih – an Iraqi aubergine pita with tahini, mango amba, dak dak, pickles and zhoug. Oh, and those are made in the dedicated charcoal-fired pita oven, by the way. It sits next to the on-site smoker where they make their own pastrami & cured salmon.
As with the first venue, you’ll find freshly made challahs, babkas, cakes, North American-inspired hand-rolled bagels, and sandwiches lining the countertop. If you get there at the right time, you can even snag a piping hot Manoushi flatbread with honey and za’atar straight from the oven.
The mixed drinks are primarily Levantine in character, with numbers like the Michelada with Tel Aviv Dancing Camel lager, horseradish and preserved lime; and an Espresso Martini with house cardamom syrup & green pistachio.
Unlike a good egg, you can’t beat them.
