Jimmy’s BBQ Club

Jimmy’s BBQ Club | A BBQ tasting menu overlooking the Thames

Jimmy Garcia, prince of pop ups, tycoon of temporary restaurants, baron of BBQs…

…is back.

His BBQ Club has sold out bewilderingly quickly every year, and because he’s not a total idiot, he’s bringing it back. He’s returning to his tried & tested spot on the Southbank, where the Thames-side venue will be split into two distinct areas:

THE BBQ CLUB RESTAURANT

Jimmy's BBQ Club

This bookable outdoor cabana-esque area by the boardwalk seats 60+ people, and features white picket fenced-off areas for private parties, deck chairs and a six-course tasting menu (£59pp) that, while serving you barbecue cooked table-side by a chef, also recognises sustainability though zero-waste principles including the reusing of ingredients for cocktail garnishes and having ‘living herb walls’ handy on-site. So don’t expect any encounters with those pesky single-use items.

As for what you’re gonna get – well… as mentioned above most of the barbecue will be taken care of by a professional chef, but there’s also an interactive aspect (that is, you’ll be cooking one part of each dish yourselves, so you can make sure they’re done to your taste). You’ll start with charred Brixton sourdough sided with their herbed dips, and then move onto barbecued Wye Valley asparagus and house labneh barbecue chicken supreme; a salt beer braised bone-marrow & beef cheek Long Boy donut; and a Wild London honey and lavender panna cotta, which comes with Maldon sea salt shortbread.

THE BBQ CLUB STREET FOOD

Jimmy's BBQ Club

Jimmy’s BBQ Club also has a more casual bar space downstairs, where a Little Green Egg BBQ will be scorching BBQ cheese burgers; lamb kebabs; halloumi fries, and all the variously delicious things that you tend to get from BBQs. And upstairs, there’s rooftop bar that’s basically in the trees, if you’re in the market for something refreshing & gin-filled. Which you probably are.

Welcome to the club.

NOTE: The BBQ Club is open now for street food, and from 4th May for the interactive menu. You can snag your table, and find out more, right here.
