Keeping up with them is easier said than done.
Particularly when they go and found a popular restaurant, café, and cocktail spot in the heart of Shoreditch that’s renowned for its quality produce and strong community vibe.
And, just to confirm your socio-economic and cultural inferiority, their space is a hell of a looker too – the high-ceilinged ground floor is a whimsical array of urban brickwork, floral prints, and fairy-lit trees that emerge through tables. Downstairs houses a distinct retro feel, as well as a buzzing open kitchen, a New York-style long bar, and a themed pop up table for private events. Down here your attention will undoubtedly turn to…
Particularly, the vast amount of dry-aged steaks on offer. Supplied by Ginger Pig butchers, they’re scorched on the Josper grill before being topped with homemade butters (infused with chipotle, porcini mushrooms, truffle, etc.). Elsewhere, the menu ticks all boxes with everything from a slow-cooked oxtail burger to creamy seasonal risotto. There’s also a small potato menu, featuring dishes like truffled dauphinoise and potato and Godminster Vintage cheese croquettes. Then after you’ve eaten you might want to head back upstairs for,
There are over 100 wines to choose from and a good selection of local craft beer including their house draught. But the real reason you’re here is the cocktails: they range from the hot (their toddy has hazelnut whisky & apricot), the sour (with a near-perfect Saffron Sour), the bitter (the Lost Negroni has a house-blend of vermouths and bitters) and the bubbly (Don’t Get In A Muddle blends gin, cucumber, lime, and prosecco).
They’ve set the bar absurdly high.
