Jonesing for some fresh, seasonal food?
We have just the place.
You’ll find Jones & Sons in the design Mecca that is the Stamford Works on Dalston‘s Gillett Street. The imposing 4000 sq ft space is filled with both a restaurant and a cocktail bar, white walls, leather banquettes, exposed pipes hanging above, and a simply gorgeous 11m long Carrera marble bar.
You’ll also notice an open kitchen as you walk in, which is run by uberchef Kieran Hope (formerly of Bistrotheque). He’s there most days putting together his regularly rotating, seasonal menus, which change every six weeks to reflect whatever’s fresh.
Currently, that menu features the likes of sea trout ceviche with mezcal & pomegranate; a 12hr beef shortrib with celeriac puree; truffled polenta with grilled artichoke hearts; confit & pink Gressingham duck with smoked plum & chicory; lobster mac & cheese; and naturally, their extraordinary butcher steaks.
Where to start. Not only are the drinks bottomless, but the food is too. That means infinite smoked salmon & scrambled eggs, pancakes, French toast, Benedicts, Chargrilled Full Englishes, and more. It’s no wonder they’re usually booked weeks in advance.
Then there are these guys. Welsh legs of lamb. Herefordshire ribeyes. Slow-Roast Hampshire pork belly. Whole roast chickens. And roast potatoes like you’ve never had.
To top it all off, there’s that incredible cocktail bar – across it, they’re sliding classics like Espresso Martinis and Daiquiris, as well as house originals like their Cherry Negroni, or the Dalston Dandy with strawberry green tea-infused vodka.
Which sounds just dandy.
NOTE: Jones and Sons is open for dinner Wednesday-Friday and brunch, lunch and dinner Saturday and Sunday. You can find out more, and make a booking at their website right HERE.
